Bathroom vanity top / sink is one piece and the sink has thin cracks in the finish, what can I do?
Just got a ‘new’ house and our super long (72″) bathroom vanity is one piece with the sink molded as part of it. These were installed in 1992 if that helps figure out what they are made out of.
The counter looks great but the sink has all sorts of small lines/cracks (it doesn’t leak) and it looks horrible and is even orange around the drain and I can’t get the stain out. Will someone please tell me if any of these are an option?
1. Cut out the sink and put in an overmount sink.
2. Put an overmount sink over the existing one.
3. Is there some product I can paint over it..like an epoxy or something to make it look new again?
Thanks for your help, I actually have 2 of these vanities, one is 72″ and one is 48″ so they will not be cheap to replace if I have to buy new counters or vanities.
they are man made they can not be fix you will try a few things but none will look right. the orange is rust have you try C.L.R. it’s calcium ,lime,rust remover. if you cut out the sink it will make the counter top weak you could try paint but it will wear in spots i really don’t know what epoxy paint would do. any thing you do it will be temporary and then will have to replace them if you have time wait for a sale some times someone will order and not pick up and you can get it 50% or more home-depot or other home improvement good luck
