What’s a good brand clay bar?
Also, is it a must to polish and wax my car after claying, or can I just wash, clay, and wipe off the clay lube with a microfiber towel?
I just used Turtle Wax Ice brand. It cost $17 at Pep Boys and came with a clay bar and lubricant spray.
I worked with people who used them professionally on used cars for a local car dealership. that the clay bar is infinately reuseable no matter how dirty it got. The Ice instructions said to remold the clay bar to get a clean area.
Then any microfiber towels are o.k. to use as long as they are clean. Why would you want to use a dirty towel to scrape up the car?
I used a tar/bug remover before using the clay bar. The clay bar removed the small unremoved tar/bugs and tree sap safely.
The clay bar will remove any wax that is existing on the car too. So it is important to put on a fresh coat of wax. It also helped remove swirls too
