Is this a brown recluse? (pic included)?
I was at my grandparents in West Texas for several weeks and twice (if i can remember correctly) I encountered a spider that looked like this. One was in my bath towel and the other was in my backpack that had sat in the corner the entire time. The latter one crawled on my arm and didnt notice it until it was near my elbow. It’s the one photgraphed. (although poorly, from my refusal to get very near it)
Is this a brown recluse? i am trying to identify. it was about the size of a half-dollar, maybe a bit bigger.

Congrats, after answering many, many “is this a brown recluse?” questions, your the first one to quite possibly have one.
While it is blurry, the shape of the carapace, the faint violin pattern, the colors and the long thin legs do indicate one.
This isn’t quite panic time, but I’d understand you wanting them gone. In the spider’s defense I feel compelled to add that their bites are over hyped, they are *normally* very shy and refrain from biting, and they can’t bite through clothes. I also have a friend who finds recluses in his home by the hundreds in late summer, and has never been bitten. However, I suggest you keep the house clean, to keep potential prey down.
Although it probably sounds crazy to you, it might be a good idea to allow cellar spiders (aka daddy long legs spiders, family Pholcidae) in your home.

These guys are themselves quite harmless to people and have been known to eat pest insects (such as ants, termites, moths, and beetles) and other spiders (including brown recluses). They also build webs in unobtrusive places, and do well to go unnoticed themselves.
If not, I am sure you can find plenty of generic sticky traps on the net, although I personally question their effectiveness at getting rid of what you want gone.
