bathroom redecorating advice? please help!?!?
i have a long wooden cabenet and also a wooden cabenet under my sink. i then have a white cabenet above my toilet. I then have a white marble sink with silver sink knobs. then i have a black tile floor. then i have black towel holder things. then i have a golden celing light along with a golden mirror. THEN i have blue tiled walls in my shower. NOTHING MATCHES! it is really bugging me! can u please tell me what i shoud do!?!?
i cant get rid of the wooden cabenets, the white marble sink, the black marble floor or the blue tiled shower walls??
i have NO idea what to do????
I had to read the description of your bathroom three times to try and picture this mismatched mix up. Wow.
You have to make a decision on hardware. You have black towel hardware, chrome sink hardware and a gold light fixture and mirror. Pick only one metal for all of these. Keep either the chrome or the gold. If any or all of these choices need to be replaced, you may choose to go with all new chrome or gold hardware. But you will have to choose just one metal for everything metal.
You can paint all the cabinetry one color. If you have one long wooden cabinet on the wall and another smaller one over the toilet, will it look better and more spacious to remove the cabinet over the toilet? If not, still paint them all the same color. You can always backtrack and change these things at a later date. I would keep the sink for now.
Okay, that takes care of the hardware and the cabinetry. The easy things. Now, for the floor and the tiled shower.
Which do you like best, the black marble floor or the blue tile shower. I think one has to go. I would replace one or the other with something to match the white marble sink.
If you stick with the blue tiled shower, decorate with blues, chrome metals and white with perhaps painting all the wood cabinetry or walls a silvery gray. Maybe the walls in a light blue to compliment the tiles?
If you stick with the black floor and get white tiles for the shower, you could paint the cabinetry white, use chrome hardware and select a color for your walls. Most colors match black and white. Consider a light turquoise, chartreuse green, terracotta or golden yellow or what color do you like? Look at shower curtains or window curtains or towels for some color inspiration.
Or, gut the whole room and start from scratch. But I think you can work with some of what you have. Good luck
