Has anyone else gotten a free upgrade to the penthouse in Vegas!!!?
Just curious if anyone else has been as lucky!?
We arrived at our hotel at 12:30am and there were no rooms left, though we booked a room 4 months ago. She offered an upgrade on a private floor, at no extra charge. I figured we were getting a room with an extra sitting room on the side, but it turned out to be a panoramic, four room suite penthouse! We had a dining room table for eight, a bar with fridge and wine cooler, a huge bathroom with double sinks and vanity on the side, and granite and glass shower, marble bathroom floors, 2 toilets, a huge soaker tub, king size bed and 2 armoires with large TV’s, stereo with IPOD adapter, and 2 sofas! We felt soooo lucky, and only paid $89/night!!! Wow!
Happened to me twice. Once when I had a room booked for a romantic rendevous at the Palace Station and they messed up my res. They then gave us the penthouse suite at the top. Wow, it was incredible.
The second time was (actually the first and the other was the second time) we hadn’t moved to Vegas yet. We were here in town to scope out homes to move to. We had a reservaton at the Sahara because we had our kids with us and in those days Wet ‘n Wild was next to the Sahara. When we got to our room, all four of us walked into it at the same time and there in the bed was a NAKED MAN SMOKING A JOINT!!!!! Yikes!! I covered the kids eyes (they were like saucers and their mouths were agape in fascination) and we grabbed the kids and RAN down to the front desk and told them the situation. “There’s a naked joint smoking man in our room” and VOILA! Penthouse suite overlooking Wet ‘n Wild.
For the most part, they upgrade you if they screw up somehow, either with the room (booking it twice like the naked man) or a toilet that doesn’t work or something else wrong with the room or the reservation was messed up.
